Written and directed by Tyler Perry, Daddy's Little Girls is a heartfelt, reverse Cinderella ("Cindefella") tale about a young, beautiful and successful female attorney (Gabrielle Union) who falls in love with a single father (Idris Elba) of three daughters who works as a mechanic. The relationship hits a snag when the mechanic's ex comes back into his life and threatens to take away their kids.
Perry and Reuben Cannon are producing along with Lionsgate. The film's production took place in Atlanta in June and July 2006, with a theatrical release set for Wednesday, February 14, 2007, following the successful release pattern for Tyler Perry's two previous hits for Lionsgate, Diary of a Mad Black Woman (February 2005) and Madea's Family Reunion (February 2006).
